Panasonic Lumix DMC GH4

The Panasonic Lumix DMC GH4, is an incredible mirrorless camera with interchangable lens. It’s specifically designed for video making, in fact it can shot at the DCI cinematic resolution of 4096 × 2160, from wich you can crop the tipical movie resolution 4K “CinemaScope”.

I’m bold enough to say that for quality is comparable to much more expensive equipment, in fact, in some tests that you can easily find on the web it seems to have outgrown the Red Reaper in sharpness, and with a little foresight you can get results comparable to those obtainable with the Red Epic.

However this little piece of jewelry gave me a lot of satisfactions also in the photographic field.

The first lens that I recommend for those willing to purchase is the excellent Lumix GX Vario H-HSA12035, a 12-35mm lens (which on the mirrorless camera will be a 24-70) incredibly versatile and bright (F2.8), with excellent integrated stabilization, so ideal for video.

For more advanced use, and longer focal lengths, one of my favorite lenses is the Lumix GX Vario H-HSA35100. With these only two lenses you will safely cover all focal lengths between 24 and 200 mm, from pretty wide panoramas to telephoto focal lengths. In addition, this lens in many benchmarks was comparable to some cinema prime lenses.
